Michelle and Derrick: The Grand Wedding Reception
|Date:||Saturday, April 09, 2011||Bride:||Michelle Huber|
|Hall:||The Grand||Groom:||Derrick Merrell|
How did the two of you meet?We met through mutual friends watching a Bengals game at BW3’s
How did the proposal take place?Derrick tricked me into thinking he bought a new bed, spur of the moment of course, which I would not have approved of since I wanted a ring! He took me upstairs to show me the bed and on the night stand was the ring, a bottle of champagne, 2 glasses and a dozen roses. Then he knelt down and proposed! Just for the record, there was no new bed.
In what ways have you prepared to make your wedding day unique and special to the two of you?We tried to make it about us. We kept it classic and elegant, nothing over the top. We just wanted it to be a night to celebrate with all of the people we love, and we did! It was everything we could have asked for and more!
What has been the most challenging experience throughout this process and do you have any advice for future brides?Our most challenging part was picking the date and location. After that, there were lots of decisions to be made but we had fun with it. My advice is to always remember that it is your day and ultimately you need to make decisions based upon what YOU want. It was the best day of my life and with the help of my mom we planned mine and Derrick’s perfect day. Don’t get stressed over the little things, enjoy the process!
How did you go about selecting your vendors?We looked into lots of different vendors. We checked out vendors that we heard of through word of mouth, internet and magazines. What helped us was finally realizing the type of wedding we wanted to achieve and as you meet with people you get a feel for if they’ll be a good fit or not. Budget is also a major factor!
