How did the two of you meet?

I met Brad August 9, 2002 at his 21st Birthday party. I had just graduated from Ohio University and was home for the summer and Brad was a junior at Wright State University in Beavercreek, Ohio. We were introduced by a mutual friend because she thought it was strange that we grew up less than 5 miles from each other and had multiple mutual friends, but didn't know who each other were. I instantly fell in love and knew that there was something really special about Brad. A few months went by and I received a phone call from Brad asking me to dinner and we were inseparable from that point on.

How did the proposal take place?

The proposal was very simple. I don't like a lot of attention or surprises so Brad proposed to me in the privacy of our home. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I think I was in shock because all I remember saying over and over again was, "Are you kidding, are you kidding?" He finally said to me, "Can you just answer the question!" Of course, I said YES!

In what ways have you prepared to make your wedding day unique and special to the two of you?

Our wedding will be special because we will be surrounded by all of the people we love the most: Our family and friends. It will be just a day of celebrating our lives together and celebrating how truly blessed we are to have each other.

What has been the most challenging experience throughout this process and do you have any advice for future brides?

The most challenging experience has been trying to plan a large wedding and meet all of the vendors at the same time as having to work a full time job. Sometimes it doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day. Advice for future brides is to just be patient and enjoy this experience because it will fly by and your wedding day will be here before you know it. How did you go about selecting your vendors?

We went with the vendors that offered exactly what we were looking for and the people that we enjoyed meeting and working with. We also met with the vendors that our friends have recommended or have used for their weddings; especially if they also enjoyed working with them.
